Hadoti possesses extremely high diversity of flora and fauna. Historically it was a stronghold of tigers in Rajasthan. After absence of about four decades, once again tigers have been reintroduced in ukandara Hills Tiger Reserve. Tiger Reserve includes territories of Darrah Sanctuary, and parts of Jawaharsagar Sanctuary and National Chambal Sanctuary. Besides, there are two more sanctuaries, namely Ramgarh Vishadhari Sanctuary in Bundi and Shergarh Sanctuary in Baran district.

The tanks and reservoirs support a wide variety of resident and migratory waterbirds, and are ideal for photography enthusiasts. The protected area between Amalsara and Sorsan in Baran district is famous for Blackbucks, Chinkara, Fox and over 150 species of birds.

Spread over an area of 759 sq. km. of Dhok forest and grassland; for most part it runs between two parallel hills. It is well stocked with Cheetal, Sambhar, Neelgai, Wild boar, Jackal, Hyena, Wolf, Peacock and a whole range of other wildlife. Currently there are two relocated tigers within an enclosure and two free ranging tigers in the Reserve. The arrangements are underway to begin eco-tourism in the protected area as per the applicable norms and guidelines.

National Chambal Sanctuary

It is a rare riverine sanctuary of India. The length of the river and its banks between Jawaharsagar dam in Rajasthan and Pachanada in Uttar Pradesh form the boundaries of the sanctuary. Chambal is an important river to protect endangered Marsh crocodile and Gharial, a host of threatened and endangered turtle species and Gangetic dolphin. Most of the endangered fauna is doing well in the sanctuary and rare animals like, Crocodile, Gharial, Gangetic softshell turtle and Olters can be easily seen in the stretch of river falling within Hadoti, Critically endangered vultures and large owls breed within the sanctuary. A short boat safari is available for the tourists in the sanctuary.

Blackbuck Protected Area Baran

It is an excellent day-out opportunity from Kota and Baran. The undulating grassland is home to thousands of Blackbucks and Chinkara, which may be seen frolicking in large herds. The grassland is also ideal to watch resident as well as migratory birds of prey, particularly harriers and falcons. Until about 2001 Godavan or Great Indian bustard was found here and plans are underway to bring them back through reintroduction.

Ramgarh Vishdhari Sanctuary Bundi

It is proving to be an ideal buffer for Ranthambhor Tiger Reserve. Many wandering tigers of Ranthambhor have found it suitable for habitation. It forms an ideal corridor for tigers to travel from one reserve to other without hindrance. The reservoirs and village tanks located within the sanctuary are ideal for migratory waterbirds, which throng there in thousands.
